Frequently Asked Questions

Is it the right time for me to hire a publicist?

How do I know if I’m ready for PR support? You will know, if you do not, you are not ready.

What should I have in place before hiring a publicist? A solidified understanding of PR and a defined list of realistic PR expectations.

Can you help if I’m just getting started, or do I need an established brand first? I prefer to work with established brands and clients.

Who do you work with?

What types of PR clients do you typically represent? Throughout my career, I have primarily operated in PR and marketing for entertainment, technology, fitness, and fashion clientele.

Do you specialize in specific industries or niches? I specialize in earned media, which applies across industries; however, I most enjoy entertainment and activism.

Do you work with individuals, brands, or both? I am open to working with established individuals and brands.

Have you worked with clients at my stage of growth? I have worked with clients at all stages of growth, from start-ups to Fortune 300s. Again, I prefer to work with established brands and clients with healthy PR and marketing budgets.

What services do you offer?

What is included in your services? All inclusive.

Do you handle both strategy and media outreach? Yes.

Do you write press materials such as press releases, bios, and media pitches? Yes.

Do you offer launch support, event publicity, or campaign strategy? Yes.

Can you assist with podcast bookings, influencer outreach, or speaking opportunities? Yes.

Do you offer crisis management or reputation support? Yes, for pre-existing clients. As policy, I do not take on new clients in crisis; it’s not a good first impression, and it’s not what I seek to align with professionally.

What results can I expect?

What kind of media coverage or visibility is realistic? In PR, if anyone guarantees you media coverage, run. As publicists, we can get the message out there. What we cannot do is guarantee that any publication or journalist will provide coverage. In PR, clients pay for the work, not the placements. Anyone telling you any different will not have your best interest at heart.

How long does it typically take to start seeing results? In terms of traditional representation, the first 90 days are crucial for formulating a strategy, creating and pitching content, and building momentum. In terms of client representation, my new client contracts are for a minimum of 6 months, with significant foundational work and execution.

Can you secure placements in specific outlets or publications? Again, as publicists, we can pitch you; we cannot guarantee placements, as that is solely in the discretion of outlets and publications.

Do you guarantee media coverage or press features? I do not. I guarantee the effort put into pitching clients.

How do you define and measure success? Measuring success is a discussion I would have during a discovery call with potential new clients.

What is your process like?

What happens after I inquire? Upon service inquiries, I conduct a deep dive on your brand to see if it aligns with my professional interests, then I’ll take it from there and message accordingly.

How are your services priced?

What is your pricing structure? I work on a flat retainer basis.

Do you offer packages or custom proposals? No, all-inclusive services on a flat retainer basis.

Is there a minimum engagement or contract length? Six months for representation.

Are there any additional costs I should expect? No.

What makes you different?

What sets your approach apart from other publicists? I actually turn down a lot of work for ethical reasons. I will not represent individuals who do not conduct themselves and/or their brands with integrity.

How does your experience shape your strategy? As an openly gay transgender professional, I am committed to fostering inclusive, respectful, and affirming work environments.

Do you have established relationships with media or journalists? Yes, I respect my professional colleagues and am grateful for their inclusion of my client base when and where applicable.
